Only a few weeks to go until one of my favourite events of the whole year: Unravel!

If you haven’t been before it’s a truly exceptional event. It’s held in a lovely old building which gives great atmosphere. There’s yarn storming all over the place around the town. Best of all it’s full of a veritable cornucopia of woolly treats. Not just knitting either, there’s plenty for crocheters, spinners, those who want to learn dyeing.  There’s usually people demonstrating and teaching how to spin using a wheel or a spindle, there’s a fashion show, competitions to judge and cake to eat in the excellent cafe when you get overwhelmed with the yarn fumes.

I look forward to it every year. This will be my second time as Undercover Owl and the third time I’ve been involved with a stall. It was one of the first yarn shows I ever went to – Alex took me as a treat for my birthday the first year it was on – and it retains a special place in my heart.

This year will be extra exciting as it will be the last show Anna and I do before Anna’s bub arrives!   I’ll have the usual array of stitch markers, needle storage, project bags and pattern holders for you to ogle and pet and Anna has some absolutely stunning kits – including some for the Pumpkin Patch shawl that was in last year’s fashion show. So do pop along and come say hi, wish Anna luck, browse her beautiful patterns and have a chat. We love to meet new people and see old friends. It’s the best part of any show really.

Hmm. Well, maybe a close second behind squeezing all the pretty yarn…
